Ever since being elected mayor in 2017, I’ve thought about how to better inform area residents and visitors about the myriad of opportunities available within the Town of Andrews. Then, when the town’s local newspaper (The Andrews Journal) closed up shop and consolidated with the Cherokee Scout, I feared that our ability to tout the positives of our mountain community had slipped away forever. 

So when a local resident pitched me the idea of starting a newsletter promoting the town’s progress and opportunities, I immediately said, “Yes.”

It is my hope that locals throughout Cherokee County and visitors to the area subscribe to this newsletter so we can all work from the same knowledge base as we take actions to better the community. The town will also use the newsletter email list to directly communicate to the public during emergency situations. So, encourage your friends and family to subscribe as well.
